Islamabad Declaration Adopted, Marking a Milestone in Regional Cooperation and Climate Action

The Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population Development (AFPPD), representing 20 member states, successfully concluded its conference in Islamabad, adopting the Islamabad Declaration, named after Pakistan’s Capital city.
 

Japan’s Minister of State has committed to funding three large-scale climate change projects in Pakistan, focusing on agriculture, education, and other critical sectors.
 

The Japanese Minister of State has also promised to coordinate with the World Bank on climate finance, leveraging her upcoming visit to Washington for this crucial engagement.
 

AFPPD has expressed its willingness to grant Pakistan a seat on its Executive Council, enhancing Pakistan's role and influence within the forum.
 

The adoption of the Islamabad Declaration elevates Pakistan's leadership role in regional discussions on population development, signaling strong international support.
