SIFC Facilitates Resolution of Mountaineering Fee Dispute to Boost Tourism Sector

Marking a significant milestone for the tourism sector, the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), in collaboration with key stakeholders including the Green Tourism Pvt. Ltd., Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Pakistan Association of Tour Operators, played a pivotal role in resolving a dispute over a steep hike in mountaineering and trekking royalty fees that had stalled tourism activity in Gilgit-Baltistan.

This breakthrough has not only paved the way for the revival of tourism in the region but has also restored confidence among international mountaineers and local service providers, including hoteliers, guides, porters, and transporters.

The development underscores SIFC’s effective role in fostering an investment-friendly environment by ensuring timely resolution of sector-specific challenges through inclusive stakeholder engagement.
